The MYTH of Work-Life Balance: Stop Juggling, Start Living
(c) 2004 Shawn Driscoll, Succeed Coaching & Development
As a parent and coach, I hear the same refrain on a weekly basis
' 'I need more life balance'. I believe the promise of work-life
balance is a myth because it suggests that there is a perfectly
balanced state that we can achieve, if only we were 'better'
time managers, or more efficient, or able to say NO more. And,
while it may be true that we could improve in the way we spend
our ...

MAKE A LASTING IMPRESSION WITH INTERVIEW ETIQUETTE Laura Murray

(Des Moines, Iowa - February 2, 2005) Behaving appropriately
during every course of an interview is just one way to increase
your success with finding a job. Here are some tips to consider
before you're seated across from your interviewer.
ยง'Dress for Success.' Does this seem like an overused phrase? It
might, but only because it's true. An appropriately dressed
candidate allows the interviewer to focus more on the ...

To be honest, I had known no other careers other than my slightly over a decade pharmaceutical sales careers. Yes, I have changed companies but my role is basically the same. As I mature in the industry over the years, I observe a thing or two about this career which could not be found elsewhere.
Here is the disclaimer though: What I am presenting here is true in my situation but I could not say the same to you. So the benefits I am about to disclose are not typical.
1. Relatively High Entry ...

When I was in school I typically started looking for a summer job a couple of days after my exams ended. I always wondered why some people found such terrific jobs while I seemed to have so much trouble.
The best summer jobs I ever had were places where I already had some kind of an 'in'. The first was in my senior year of high school, at a local utility company where my aunt worked. There I earned much better than average income for my age and got some great accounting experience. During my ...

Interview Thank-You Letters
The number one etiquette tip for interviews is writing a
thank-you letter. This is not a tool commonly used by job
seekers right now. If you are looking for an advantage and a way
to stick out above the other job applicants then follow up your
interview by showing appreciation and courtesy.
The letter should be written and sent within 24 hours of your
interview and sent to all people who either interviewed you or
helped you out in the process. If it is not ...

Advantages can come in many forms. Looking at careers in pharmaceutical sales and careers in medicine, the thing I see personally that put them under the same umbrella is healthcare. Both careers affect healthcare, directly or indirectly. But the things that put them at different end of the line can be summed up in this sentence - demand and supply.
Let's take a look at both careers, in term of advantages, from that point of view.
Pharmaceutical Sales Are Profit Driven
It is not a mystery ...

Preparing for Your Next Job Interview
By Bryan Thorby
Once you get the call for the interview, the next thing that you
need to do is prepare for it. You can never over prepare for an
interview. The more prepared you are, the harder it will be to
make mistakes. It is best to prepare yourself emotionally as
well as intellectually for an interview. Giving a great
interview is not as hard as some may think, but not as easy as
others do either. Here are a few things that must be done in
order to ...

b>Electronic Resume Writing Tips That Boost Your Interview
Appointment Success
Before you write your resume in a word processor, print it, and
hand out copies to prospective employers, you should consider
formatting it for easy scanning and retrieval from a computer
database.
As you can imagine, dozens, maybe hundreds of resumes bombard
employers for a position they would like filled. To sift through
each of these manually would probably be too time consuming even
for the largest of ...

A career in public speaking is an excellent way to earn a living. You can earn a pretty steady income through paid speeches or product sales and at the same time, you will be able to help people with their problems.
